Seasons

Spring Season

Rec-Ball teams are drafted  in age-divisions 6U (t-ball), 8U (pitching machine),
10U, 12U, and 14/16U.  During the Spring season, Creeks teams play an
average of 15 games against teams from Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach,
Ponte Vedra, Northside, and Mandarin.  At the end of the spring season, there
will be a Creeks champion for each age-group (based on the end of season
record) who will advance to a district wide, single-elimination tournament.
Practices begin around the 1st of February and games begin around the 1st of
March.

Advanced Ball

Creeks puts together an Advanced Ball team in the 8U, 10U, 12U, and 16U
divisions to play games against other teams from multiple districts.  This team
plays double-headers on Saturdays during the Spring and Fall seasons.

All-Star Season

Following the Spring Rec-Ball season, All-Star teams are selected for the 8U,
10U, 12U, and 14/16U divisions.  These teams practice several times a week and
participate in tournaments during the summer leading up to the Babe Ruth
District Tournament.  Teams have the capabilities to advance to the State and
Regional Tournaments along with the possibility of attending the World Series
(12U and 16U divisions).   All-Star teams form in early May and begin practicing
and preparing for the District Tournament in late June.

Fall Season

The Fall Rec-Ball season is a more instructional season (no end of season
tournament).  The Fall season is extremely beneficial for new players to have
more instruction with the basic fundamentals of the game and it also allows for
the more experienced players to tone their skills.  The Fall season begins with
practices in early September and games beginning in early October.  The season
concludes the week prior to Thanksgiving.

Age Divisions
Creeks Softball Association provides a competitive softball program for girls
ranging in age from four to sixteen.

6U: The 6U age group is referred to as t-ball.  Players focus on batting and
simply making contact with the ball.  A coach pitches five softballs to a batter and
if contact is not made, the tee will be brought out for the player to swing until the
ball is put into play.  The 6U age group plays with a ball that is softer than a
softball called a "Softee."

8U: The 8U age group is referred to as "pitching machine."  A pitching machine is
placed at the pitcher's mound and a batter receives five hittable pitches at
thirty-two miles per hour.  Teams can play with ten girls on the field at a time,
meaning there are four outfielders.  The girls play with an eleven inch softball.

10U: At the 10U age group, girls begin to develop pitching skills and "kid-pitch"
begins.  With the girls just beginning to learn the basics of pitching, walks are not
allowed during the first few weeks of the season and coaches pitch underhand to
the girls after they have been pitched four balls.  This is the final season girls
play with an eleven inch ball and this is also the final season teams can play with
four outfielders..

12U: In the 12U age division, the pitching has become more developed and the
pitcher's mound has been moved back.  Play becomes more competitive and
nine girls play the field at a time.  At this age group girls begin to play with a
twelve inch softball.

14U/16U: This is what we call our "senior league".  This group ranges in girls
ages thirteen to sixteen. In this division, players often focus on a few specific
positions and getting better at them.
We are a branch of Creeks Athletic Association &
play under Babe Ruth Softball.
